Celebrating Life with a Grateful Heart!

As each year passes and my birthday creeps up, in my mind I always go back and re-analyze my previous year. The things I look for is did I make a difference in this world? Did I make a difference in my children, in my relationships with people? Was I a good wife, mom, daughter, neighbor, friend? Nothing scares me more than living a self absorbed life without leaving any type of legacy behind. Daily I ask my Creator to mold me into a better person, to show people who He really is. It’s a daily challenge but yet He gives me strength and keeps my eyes on Him, even in the most unknown and difficult times. I praise my Father for yet again a wonderful, beautiful, challenging, exciting and useful year. I thank Him for giving me breath as without Him, I would be absolutely incapable of living. I am glad to say, I have blessed a couple of people on my birthday, it was a couple of strangers that had no idea what was coming, but I know I made their day. I pray that we as a family will get better at it as years go by and will always bless someone on our birthday. Bella is beginning to understand more and more what that entails and is excited to give as well as to receive of course πŸ˜‰ Somehow giving always brings more joy than receiving. We had a blessed time at our home, celebrating with family. I wouldn’t wish it any other way. Thank you my precious family for blessings me and spoiling me with your presence and the gifts. I didn’t deserve any of it. Thank you Lord for yet another year!

First Haircuts

It’s not everyone that can have a priviladge of a hair dresser come to your home to cut hair, but we are definitely blessed. We have an amazing auntie Lilia who comes to our house to give haircuts to the kids and Barry. She is currently still in cosmetology school and God willing she will be all done in December. Both kiddos needed haircuts and she made them look just lovely. We had lots of fun and both kids did great. Thank you, thank you, thank you auntie Lilia!

He wasn’t sure what to think πŸ˜‰
Joshy was busy watching a movie…really that was the only way to get the job done πŸ™‚
All finished and looking handsome πŸ™‚
πŸ™‚
Sissy’s turn πŸ™‚
She was having fun πŸ™‚
Entertainment was needed towards the end πŸ˜‰
She is beautiful!!!

Celebrating Parenthood

I love that there are days such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day for us to step back and to truly reflect on how gracious our God is, to design family and to put two precious people in our life.Β  I don’t even know where to begin counting my blessings.Β  My parents are truly a gift from God and I cherish them dearly.Β  The older I get, the more I realize how much work and time has been invested in us.Β  I believe no child will understand the depth of parenthood, until they become a parent themselves.Β  It has been sweet joy to watch my husband being a daddy.Β  A daddy that takes his kids to the park, a daddy that takes the time to read to them, to play with them, to tackle the obstacles that come their way, to take heart and drop them off in Sunday school every week even if they are not happy to be there, to teach them not to fear, to be silly with them, to read their Bible to them every night, to pray with them, to take them on bike rides, walks and runs, to sing with them, plant a garden and watch it grow, to mow a lawn with them while having them on his back and to take the time to stop when needed to explain the importance of obedience and our existence.Β  As a child, I recall many talks with my parents about rights and wrongs, about our days at school and the feeling of my dad’s β€œhuge” hand holding mine.Β  There was that sense of security, joy and freedom.Β  It is knowing that you can succeed in anything that you put your heart into, because you have the best support system in the world.Β  It starts with parents, the root of love, understanding and acceptance.Β  God is the glue that holds it all together and without Him, none of life will make sense.Β  I am grateful that I have my Heavenly Father to walk me though parenthood, which is THE MOST important job that you will be given on this earth.Β  Every day I look at it as an honor, no matter how bad some days are.Β  Thank you for trusting us to raise our kids to our best ability God.Β  I pray for wisdom, patience and love that surpasses all understanding.Β  Happy Mother’s Day & Father’s Day!
